Chaos at stations was expected now that there were no trains running to and from Tilburg for more than two weeks. This has everything to do with various works at and around the Tilburg and Tilburg University stations. But on Monday morning it appears that everything is going very smoothly.

At Tilburg station, the steep stairs to the platforms are being replaced. In addition, platform 4 is being completed and platform 1 is being renovated.

Platform 1 at Tilburg University station is being completely renovated. It will have new paving, lighting, cameras and a new public address system. In addition, ProRail is replacing portals for the overhead lines and the ramp of platforms 2 and 3 will be completely renovated. In addition, work is being done on the track between Tilburg and Breda and Tilburg and Vught, and work is also taking place at Gilze-Rijen station.

“Of course it’s the May holiday, that makes a big difference.”

“Because of this work, there are no trains running between Breda and Tilburg, between Eindhoven and Tilburg and between Den Bosch and Tilburg,” says NS spokesperson Arno Leblanc.

The NS uses buses to take travelers from A to B. “It’s going well,” Leblanc saw on Monday morning at the station in Den Bosch. “It is of course the May holiday, which makes a big difference. And we notice that when there are works, some of the travelers stay at home or take measures themselves and travel in a different way.”

More than eighty buses are deployed every day. “They run up and down between Breda and Tilburg, between Tilburg and Den Bosch, between Tilburg and Boxtel and all stations in between. We hope that we can get everyone from A to B in the next two weeks.”

“I deliberately planned my appointments flexibly, but it is much quieter than I thought.”

*I think it’s not that bad that the bus runs every five minutes,” says Thieu just before he boards the bus. He has to go from Den Bosch to the nature museum at Tilburg Central Station. Myrthe from Nijmegen is also pleasantly surprised at how well everything is arranged. at Den Bosch station. “I deliberately planned my appointments flexibly, but it is much quieter than I thought. That’s nice.”
