VLISSINGEN – In their own Baskensburg, Hussein Bouzambou’s team lost 2-5 to PhD student Scagha’66. Due to this defeat and the win of competitor HV/Veerhuys, place one in the Relegation Pool seems to have been lost. Karim Boughaba and Istvan Bakx were accurate for the Vlissingen team.

The home team started the match against the North Hollanders weakly and unconcentrated. Scagha’66, who was certain of survival if they won, was sharp and quickly reached 0-1. Shortly afterwards the guests even reached 0-2 and the Vlissingers were able to start. As the first half progressed, Groene Ster got better and better in the match. This also resulted in a number of good opportunities for Mourad Azzanagui and the well-playing Imad Azzanagui, among others, but the visitors’ goalkeeper played a great game and kept his team going for a long time. However, he could not prevent Karim Boughaba from being the final station of a beautiful attack and ensuring the 1-2. With a few minutes left until half-time, the Vlissingen team increased the pace and continued to rain opportunities. The well-deserved 2-2 came on the board via a well-deserved shot by top scorer Istvan Bakx.

Second half

Another weak start from the home team in the second half and again the guests immediately put an end to this; 2-3. Then a very remarkable moment. One leader did not give a foul, after which the other overruled his colleague, gave a foul and Karim Boughaba even received a yellow card. The leader felt passed over and immediately left the room. The match was stopped for fifteen minutes. Afterwards, Groene Ster tried to get back into the match, but the real sharpness was not there. The Vlissingers tried to get back into the match with a goalkeeper playing along, but this was counterproductive and the score was 2-4. The clock kept ticking and the home team just couldn’t get the ball in. There were also plenty of opportunities in this phase, but the North Holland goalkeeper took everything. The guests even made it 2-5 from a quick counter and the match was over. To make matters worse, goalkeeper Youssef Ben Sellam had to pull the emergency brake and was presented with a red card.
