A body was found in a car in a burned-out barn in Berkel en Rodenrijs this morning. Yesterday there was a big fire there.

According to the police, there were soon suspicions of arson. Two suspects were arrested near the shed yesterday. This concerns a 28-year-old man without a permanent place of residence and a 21-year-old Rotterdam resident. The police are investigating their involvement.

According to regional broadcaster Rijnmond, the body was found this morning by the 13-year-old son of the owner of the shed.

The fire broke out yesterday around 3:30 p.m. The flames also spread to a house with a thatched roof attached to the shed. The fire brigade worked all evening to extinguish the fire. The fire was under control just before 1 a.m.

According to the broadcaster, emergency services were unable to enter the shed earlier and forensic investigators were supposed to enter first this morning, but the boy beat them to it. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
