FC Groningen does not want the main field of GRC (field 5) at Corpus den Hoorn sports park to be converted into an artificial grass field.

Except for Sundays 1 and 2 of GRC, the higher training teams of FC Groningen use this competition field, a natural grass field.

The municipality, which owns the sports park, wants to replace field 5 with a new, weather-resistant artificial grass field that can be used more intensively. This should already happen during the coming summer break. The municipal council has agreed to this and the football clubs GRC and Groen Geel are enthusiastic about the adjustment, according to the municipality.

FC Groningen is less happy. The Pride of the North states that the announced conversion is contrary to agreements. General manager Wouter Gudde emphasizes that his club holds the municipality of Groningen to a lease agreement for the use of field 5. In addition, the KNVB obliges clubs in the Premier League to play on natural or hybrid grass.

What do you think, should FC Groningen adapt to the wishes of the other users of Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn? Or is FC Groningen completely within its rights?
