It had been in the air for a while, but now the bullet has finally been made: Viaplay remains the rights holder of Formula 1 in the Netherlands. The Scandinavian media company will broadcast F1 until at least 2029.

Viaplay has signed a new mega deal with FOM. The streaming service has owned the F1 rights since 2022 and can broadcast the premier class of motorsport for at least another five years. As a result, Formula 1 will be broadcast by Viaplay in the Netherlands, but also in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland until 2029.

Verstappen and Viaplay happy with this news

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, Viaplay ambassador, reacts enthusiastically to this news. “I am very pleased that Viaplay has signed this long-term agreement with Formula 1. Like me, they strive to be the best, so we look forward to continuing our successful partnership. It is great to collaborate with Viaplay to share my achievements to bring the circuit to the viewers,” said the three-time Formula 1 world champion.
