The Ford Bronco has finally officially crossed over to Europe. As expected, the price tag is something to swallow, but with a dive into the price list we like to fantasize about putting together our ideal Bronco.

Jeep has a true icon with the Wrangler. Ford wanted that too. Moreover, there was still some production capacity left at the Ranger factory and one and one made two. In our opinion, the result is very successful. The new Bronco has styling cues from the first model from 1966, in particular, without the retro styling being too obvious. We were able to drive it last year, but then we had to wait for the official crossing to the European market. Now the time has come.

Engines Ford Bronco

The Dutch motorcycle range is nice and clear. Only the smallest engine makes the crossing. But everything is relative: the smallest engine is still a 2.7-liter V6 with 246 kW (335 hp). Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission.

Ford Bronco Equipment

Of the seven regular versions of the Ford Bronco, only two are officially available in the Netherlands. Those are the Outer Banks and the Badlands. Both belong to the higher equipment levels, with the Badlands putting more emphasis on off-road driving. This means that the Bronco in the Netherlands is richly equipped as standard. Just a few highlights: 18-inch alloy wheels, full LED lighting, front seat heating, keyless entry & start, 8-inch digital instruments, 12-inch central touchscreen with extensive infotainment and plenty of USB and (other) power connections. The usual assistance and safety systems have been supplemented with various off-road driving modes. Another special feature is that the roof and doors are completely removable and removable. And yes, you can go on the road without doors.

As mentioned, the Ford Bronco Badlands mainly distinguishes itself with off-road equipment: 17-inch alloy wheels with off-road tires, an off-road suspension with limited-slip differential, automatically engaging all-wheel drive, unpainted black exterior elements, roof rails, sill protection and even more off-road assistance systems.

Furthermore, the Ford Bronco is only available as a five-door in the Netherlands, while in the US you can also opt for a three-door version.

Ford Bronco Prices

It’s better to skip this paragraph if you want to keep your good mood. Before taxes, the Ford Bronco is available in the Netherlands from a quite reasonable 64,301 euros. After the government adds a hefty sum of VAT and – especially – BPM, you suddenly end up with 153,100 euros… The Badlands is not very far above that at 161,100. Let’s take it then. The car is expensive and ultimately it is mainly intended as an off-roader. This is best expressed in the Badlands.

Exterior decoration

The Ford Bronco is pristine white as standard. For an additional charge of 1,200 euros you can choose from black, dark gray and dark green. For 1,300 euros you can choose from dark blue, bright red and some more original shades of gray and blue. See the photos below. We go for the color Area 51, a grayish light blue. There are no other wheel choices.

Interior decoration

There is no choice at all in the interior: you always get black leather. A largely gray dashboard and some orange-brown stitching and accents break through the black.

Packages and individual options

“No options needed,” the configurator reports in the next step. That is correct, the Ford Bronco in the Netherlands is already equipped with almost all the trimmings as standard, as you could read above. Yet you can add something to that: a removable towbar (1,200 euros). We’ll check that one, because it can come in handy with a Bronco. This gives us the entire options list immediately.

Assemble the Ford Bronco yourself

With the selected body color and tow bar, the price of our Ford Bronco comes to 162,400 euros. Well. It costs a bit, but then you have a great off-roader that sets you apart from the crowd. You can also wait until there are used cars that can be imported without (residual) BPM.
