More than ninety carefully selected ceramists from home and abroad will show their work at the 31st Ceramics Market Northern Netherlands Dwingeloo on Thursday, May 9 (Ascension Day) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Every market stall on the main village green is transformed into a small exhibition location. The organization of this grand event is in the hands of the board and working group of the Stichting Keramiekmarkt Noord-Nederland Dwingeloo.

Unlike on-location exhibitions, the ceramist himself is present and you can discuss the shapes, colors and details of his or her work with the artist. Moreover, the work can be purchased immediately and taken with you. The visitor is also treated to large turning work and mosaic work, among other things. Children can play clay for free.

Two prizes

During the market, an expert jury will assess the work of the participating ceramists. This leads to the awarding of two prizes: the ‘Ceramics Prize North Netherlands’, made available by Wiechers Wonen and the ‘Turning Prize’ for the best turning performance, made available by VEKA, a company in ceramic raw materials and the Foundation itself.

Unlike previous years, second and third places in both categories will also be rewarded with a cash prize. The prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m. To enhance the atmosphere, there is live music throughout the day.
