From Poland: “It is also simply the most beautiful stadium in the Netherlands”

Bram van Polen is certainly not equally loved by every Feyenoord player due to his statements in the past, but the eloquent club hero of PEC Zwolle appeared in front of the camera on Sunday evening after the hopeless defeat to talk about the match and his feelings about Arne Slot and how special De Kuip is to him.

“I think it’s nice and he deserves this too,” Van Polen begins in conversation ESPN about Slot. “He has really created something beautiful here and got Feyenoord playing football again in a way they have not often seen here in De Kuip. I think Arne has gotten enough feathers up his ass, but in addition to being an incredibly good trainer, he is also a very good person. That is often much more important to me. He is a sincere and very pure person.”

The match itself is also still being discussed. “In some cases it was really the men against the boys. How we were occasionally bluffed. I didn’t think the first half was that crazy and they scored two lucky goals, but you are only holding back. I I think we had two chances, but other than that it’s really holding back. Then you know that the ball can go in through the door and they will enforce that.”

“At a certain point we just have to hope that they take it easy,” continues the PEC Zwolle club hero. For Van Polen, his last visit to De Kuip as a player is very special. “I have had great success here and it is simply the most beautiful stadium in the Netherlands. In terms of atmosphere and even though they occasionally swear at you completely, it remains a truly unique audience. When the final whistle went, I thought for a moment: this is a moment to enjoy. But there was little enjoyment during the match, to be honest.”
