In the coming week, Fairtrade Netherlands will draw attention to the importance of conscious consumption

Action – Fairtrade Netherlands will draw attention to the importance of conscious consumption in the coming week. During Fairtrade Week, the organization wants to make it clear to consumers that small steps can still make a big impact.

Fairtrade is committed to paying a fair price to farmers and workers worldwide. If you choose products that are Fairtrade certified, they contribute to a world that is fair for people and the environment. By purchasing products with the green-blue Fairtrade quality mark, you can make a real difference for farmers and employees in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Fair price

A good product deserves a fair price. A fair price is necessary to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, school and housing. But also to be able to invest in sustainable agricultural methods so that farmers no longer have to use harmful pesticides and can pay attention to the conservation of forests. If they receive a fair price, they are better able to take good care of themselves, but also to help keep the earth healthy so that they can continue to produce in the future.

Fair Trade Week

During the spring edition of Fairtrade Week (4-12 May), Fairtrade Netherlands draws more attention to Fairtrade products in order to increase the volume for the benefit of farmers.
