Have a chance! This way you can still go to this sold-out party

The ZIMIHC theaters have existed for 35 years and this is being celebrated in a big way. On Saturday, May 25, the ZIMIHC theater will host Stefanus during The Galalalalaaa full of amateur art. Expect a colorful carousel show lasting forty-five minutes. An evening full of creativity with the theme: family circus!

The Galalalalaaa is an ode to all the people, donors, institutions and organizations that make the work of ZIMIHC possible. Namely: facilitating amateur art. Director Appie Alferink: With this celebration we want to put our target group, amateur artists, in the spotlight and show how important it is to support small initiatives. A circus show with unlikely combinations

In a spectacular show, ZIMIHC gives the floor to the people it’s all about: the amateur artists. During Het Galalalalaaa they shine under the direction of Paul Feld and Mystha Mandersloot and the audience gets to see how rich Utrecht’s amateur art is. And this one is alive and kicking! It is vibrant, energetic and creativity shines through.

A poet and a brass band

The craziest combinations with more than two hundred amateur artists have been created especially for Het Galalalalaaa. A poet performs with a brass band and a rapper raps his lyrics with an Indian dance group. All acts play for three minutes. So the momentum is good.

“Just as important as sport”

ZIMIHC was founded 35 years ago by Appie Alferink. The passion he already had for amateur art is still alive today. Appie: “Art is just as important as sport. Truly an outlet and good for mental health. We want to emphasize how important it is to also support amateur art professionally and financially. The fun just bursts out!”

Amateur artists and donors are in the spotlight

“We do not organize the Galalalalaaa for ourselves, but for the amateur artists. We thank the municipality, the Cultural Fund and the many other donors. With Het Galalalalaaa we show how alive the cultural field of Utrecht is and what you can achieve with small donations. Art is much more accessible than is often thought,” says Appie.

Good luck with international projects

“Our mission remains to stimulate creativity in society. We are an experimenting organization,” says Appie. A wonderful project that he is very proud of is the International Choir Festival: Leading Voices. A global cast of conductors and composers. ZIMIHC supports amateur art both on a small scale in the neighborhoods and internationally.
