Tjaronn Chery is rented by NEC from Maccabi Haifa FC this six months. The Israeli club now reports on its social channels that the attacking midfielder is leaving and wants to stay in the Netherlands with his family.

Chery returned to the Netherlands in January for the health of his son Chez. He needed special medical help, which could be found in the Netherlands. Chery had several clubs to choose from, but ultimately chose NEC. It was still certain for him that he would return to Israel after these six months. “I have another year of contract after this. They didn’t want me to go. I am captain and one of the most important players of the club. “I told them honestly that I love the club Maccabi Haifa, but at the moment my family is the most important,” he said at the time.

In his first match he was immediately important with a goal against Go Ahead Eagles after a rush from his own half. In his first games he started well with three goals in three games. After that, things went a bit worse for the playmaker, partly due to an injury, but that changed on Monday against Excelsior. Chery scored twice, bringing his goal tally to five. It is still unclear whether Chery will remain with NEC after the summer, but he will remain in the Netherlands, reports Maccabi Haifa.
