In the short term, the province of Drenthe will start a new trial in the Drentsche Aa area to sell, exchange and/or acquire (natural) land. The pilot, called the Groenruil Drentsche Aa, has been set up to sell or exchange (natural) land in the province of Drenthe, site management organizations and private individuals in a public, transparent and market-based manner. The province calls on landowners in the Drentsche Aa area to participate.
The Drentsche Aa is a stream that flows from the Drents Plateau (source area) to the city of Groningen (lower course). It is one of the best preserved stream and esdorp landscapes in Western Europe, says the province. Drenthe is now starting a trial to sell land that the province has redeveloped as a nature reserve in recent years.
Drenthe: ‘This concerns natural areas in the Drentsche Aa area that are part of the Nature Network Netherlands (NNN). This means that these lands are designed as nature or should be designed as nature, in order to form a continuous network of nature in Drenthe. After the purchase or exchange, the land retains a nature destination, with the obligation to manage it as nature.’
Prolander
In recent years, Drenthe has purchased several lands within the NNN and developed them as nature, but the province does not see itself as the final manager of these lands. ‘That is why the province hopes to sell or exchange these natural areas with other land owners through the Groenruil Drentsche Aa pilot (hereinafter the Groenruil). The Groenruil takes place on behalf of the province of Drenthe and is carried out by Prolander and the Land Registry. After completion of the pilot, the province will examine whether the Groenruil can also be used in other areas in Drenthe.’
Companies, foundations, site management organizations and private individuals can register to participate in the Groenruil. Interested parties can buy or exchange (natural) land by offering (under certain conditions) (natural) land within the NNN. Interested parties can visit the Prolander website for more information.
Information meeting
The Groenruil project team is organizing an information meeting about the Groenruil on Tuesday evening, May 21. During this meeting they will tell you more about the pilot and the working method. The meeting will take place at Grandcafé Hofsteenge in Rolde and is publicly accessible to all interested parties. The meeting lasts from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Registration is not necessary.
