GOES – Students from the Sint Willibrordusschool and Bishop Ernstschool in Goes will jointly raise money for the cause: Hope on Wheels Mumbai.

“At Hope on Wheels, professionals drive a bus that has been converted into a classroom to slums every day and provide education to children who cannot attend regular education,” the two schools say. ‘In order to be able to drive even further into the slums to reach more children, they would like to use a smaller bus. Through our joint campaign we want to raise money so that this second small bus can be purchased for Hope on Wheels and adapted to provide education.’

Relay form

The plan is for all students from both schools to participate in a walk or bicycle trip to the Zeeland Bridge on Wednesday. ‘All our students will walk or cycle from their own school in a relay towards the students of the other school. The children from the toddler groups start “the relay” with a short tour on and around the square, after which each subsequent group will walk or cycle a little further. The students of the Bisschop Ernstschool will therefore walk or drive a route from Goes towards Zierikzee, the children of the Sint Willibrordusschool will go towards Goes. Each with half of a symbolic bus. If the groups meet each other on the route, the bus can be made as one whole. This means that the sponsorship performance has been successful. Richard van der Heijde provided information at both schools. On Friday, May 17, we will announce the amount we have raised together in a fun way.’
