The highlights of Tegenstroom Film Festival from 8 to 11 May in CineCity Terneuzen

TERNEUZEN – From May 8 to 11, Terneuzen will be all about film during the Tegenstroom Film Festival. The festival shows the absolute top in the field of short films produced in the Netherlands, Flanders and Zeeland in the past year. From stimulating documentaries to sharp, intense, funny and moving fiction stories.

Master of the festival is actor Gene Bervoets. Together with Frank van Passel (director Moresnet, selected for Canneséries 2024), Dirk De Lille (Paradiso Filmed Entertainment), Xavier Rombaut (Polar Bear) Annemiek van der Hell (Windmill Film) and Danny Elsen (DOP) and moderator Signe Zeilich-Jensen During a symposium on Thursday, May 9, he will discuss the differences between working in Flanders and the Netherlands and the step from film to series and how all this could and should be improved.

Guests

In addition to Master Gene Bervoets, there are other prominent guests who contribute to the festival by sharing their professional knowledge. During his masterclass, Hugo Metsers discusses the relationship between directing and acting, editor Peter Alderliesten talks about the ins and outs of his work, script coach Jet Kragt gives a masterclass about what is involved in script writing and script doctor of international fame Rachel O’Flanagan gives a masterclass on script writing and script doctoring. The icing on the cake is the Flemish Jean Paul van Bendegem (philosopher-mathematician), who is somewhat unknown in the Netherlands; he takes the audience along with his characteristic sense of humor in his view of films in the masterclass ‘A philosopher watches films!’. You will never watch movies the same way again. Tickets for both master classes and film screenings can be purchased via www.iff-tegenstroom.com.
