The Huawei brand has been less visible in the Netherlands in recent years, but is not thinking about stopping. On the contrary: the Chinese giant will be launching new laptops and a smartwatch in the Netherlands in the near future. We list the new gadgets.

New smartwatch

Huawei’s smartwatches and fitness trackers are widely sold worldwide and work well with smartphones from Huawei and all other brands. The Huawei Watch Fit 3, a smartwatch that costs a reasonable 159 euros, will therefore soon be released in the Netherlands.

In terms of design, we think the Watch Fit 3 looks a lot like an Apple Watch, although that is not necessarily a negative thing. The watch appears solid, has a square 1.82-inch OLED screen that looks nice and allows you to click the straps in and out with one movement. Nice if you want to change straps every now and then. Huawei will also sell various straps. A distinguishing point of the Watch Fit 3 is the battery life. Huawei promises seven to ten days of use, while an Apple Watch needs to be charged every night.

You will soon be able to read an extensive review of the Huawei Watch Fit 3 on ID.nl.

Laptop weighing less than a kilo

In addition to new wearables, Huawei is also releasing two new laptops. These are the MateBook 14 and MateBook X Pro, which have recommended retail prices from 1099 and 1999 euros respectively.

The MateBook There are few laptops for sale that weigh less than a kilo. The MateBook You can operate the screen with your fingers.

However, the number of ports is limited at three times USB-C. The laptop runs on the latest Intel Core Ultra processor with Intel Arc graphics and carries the Intel Evo certification, which, among other things, must guarantee a long battery life.

The MateBook 14 is cheaper, also equipped with a 14.2-inch OLED screen, but with more different connections such as HDMI, USB-A and USB-C. The device weighs 1.31 kilos, making it the usual weight for a 14-inch laptop. It is notable that Huawei is releasing the MateBook 14 in a fresh mint green color. The manufacturer claims that the laptop lasts seven hours with ‘normal use’.

The new laptops come at an interesting time. There have been rumors for months that the United States will expand trade sanctions against Huawei, which would mean that Intel will no longer be allowed to supply processors to Huawei. Whether this will actually happen and whether it will affect the brand new MateBooks with Intel processors is currently unknown.

Special tablet

A new Huawei tablet will also be released: the MatePad 11.5 S PaperMatte Edition. This 510-gram tablet has a matte and barely reflective 11.5-inch screen that looks and feels like paper. Huawei also supplies a pressure-sensitive stylus pen. The tablet is available in the Netherlands for a suggested retail price of 399 euros. Please note that this tablet runs on Huawei’s Android operating system without Google software.

All products will be available through Huawei’s online store. Only the Watch Fit 3 will soon also be available at well-known retailers.
