A 90-year-old man who was pushed off his bicycle by a passer-by on Friday on the Heemweg in Veldhoven died in hospital on Monday. The police reported this on Tuesday morning. Officers arrested a 42-year-old man from Veldhoven. That suspect is still in custody.
The very elderly man was pushed off his bicycle on the Heemweg around half past ten on Friday morning. He was seriously injured in the fall and was rushed to hospital. He died there on Monday morning from his injuries.
The man suspected of pushing the 90-year-old was arrested by officers and police officers soon after the accident on Friday. He resisted this. An agent therefore had to one taser use to arrest him. An officer was also injured during the arrest.
The suspect will remain in custody for at least another two weeks. The police are continuing their investigation and hope that witnesses can provide more information about what happened and what happened.
