FrieslandCampina was shocked on May 4 by the news that Hans Hettinga had died after a short illness. Hans Hettinga was a board member of Zuivel Cooperative FrieslandCampina UA and a member of the supervisory board of Royal FrieslandCampina NV. He was 65 years old.
FrieslandCampina reports the death on its website: ‘Hans Hettinga was a highly valued board member and member of the supervisory board. We will remember Hans Hettinga as a reliable, intelligent and personally involved farmer manager, whose legacy lives on in the cooperative and company and in the community in which he was also fully active.
His dedication to the cooperative and company was invaluable. From 1998 to 2011 he was a member of the members’ council, the last six years as chairman of the Southwest Friesland district. Since December 20, 2016, he has been a member of the board and the supervisory board, including as a member of the remuneration, nomination and governance committee. As a member dairy farmer, Hans Hettinga, together with his brother, owned a dairy farm in It Heidenskip, Friesland.
Our condolences go out to his family. We wish them strength in coping with this great loss.’
Hans Hettinga announced during the spring meetings of FrieslandCampina that he would no longer stand for re-election for a new board term.
