From Thursday, on Ascension Day, the May Fair will start again for eleven days. The fair in the city center, on the Vismarkt, Grote Markt and Ossenmarkt, will be opened at 4 p.m. by Alderman Wijnja on the Vismarkt.
Attractions
There are numerous attractions on the Grote Markt, Vismarkt and Ossenmarkt, ranging from sensational and spectacular attractions interspersed with nostalgic carousels and other attractions. There is the Break Dance, the bumper cars, Projekt 1, the Ferris wheel and the 65 meter high Airborne is also present again. There are also various carnival games, such as grabs, the shooting salon and much more. Cotton candy and oliebollen, poffertjes, churros or fries are of course also included.
At the Ossenmarkt you can visit the nostalgic fair with attractions and delicacies from the past. There is, among other things, the swing carousel, a mini Ferris wheel, the boat mill, the Ufojet, the Carrousel and the caterpillar track, truly the entertainment of the past.
There are also various activities, such as the Meet & Greet with carnival cuddly toy Lucky Loeks and clown Joep. The low-stimulus afternoon can be visited on Monday, May 13. Then the attractions have adapted rides, there is less loud music and less shiny lighting.
On the Grote Markt and Vismarkt the maximum payment is 2.50 euros for children’s attractions, 3.00 euros for major entertainment. At the Nostalgia Fair on the Ossenmarkt the costs are 1.50 euros per person per ride.
The May Fair can be visited from Thursday 9 to Monday 20 May at the Grote Markt, Vismarkt and Ossenmarkt.
