Joost Klein is on Thursday morning with his number Europapa dropped one place at the bookmakers. The French entry Slimane (Mon Amour) has taken the singer’s place. Klein is now in seventh place.
It is the lowest place at the bookmakers in weeks for Joost Klein (26). The Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest was one of the top favorites for a long time. He was even in third place with a 14 percent chance of winning. On Monday evening Klein fell out of the top 5 for the first time and is now Europapa in seventh place with a 4 percent chance of winning.
The news comes after his Eurovision act was shown in full for the first time in front of a packed house in Malmö. The dress rehearsals for the second semi-final for the Eurovision Song Contest took place on Wednesday. Klein performed his number no fewer than twice Europapa on: in the afternoon for the press and in the evening for more than 12,000 attendees. The Dutch entry clearly did well during the rehearsal in front of the packed audience. Europapa is a visual bombardment and very energetic.
The second semi-final for the Eurovision Song Contest starts on Thursday evening at 9 p.m. Klein must qualify for the final there. His chances of winning may be slightly weakened, but he doesn’t have to worry about qualifying. The Netherlands is number 1, with a 93 percent chance of reaching the final.
Joost Klein is more concerned with his family than with the bookmakers. He said this on Thursday when he left for the Malmö Arena.
According to the betting shops, the Croatian Baby has Lasagna with his number Rim tim tagi dim now the best papers with a 41 percent chance of winning. Switzerland is in second place with a 19 percent chance of winning. This is followed by Ukraine, Ireland and Italy.
