Unique family photo: three of Michael Jackson’s children together on the red carpet

Rare moment at the London premiere of ‘MJ the musical’ on Wednesday evening: Michael Jackson’s three children – Paris, Prince and Blanket – appeared together again on the red carpet.

The musical about the youth and career of the ‘King of Pop’ premiered on Wednesday evening at the Prince Edward Theater in London’s West End, after achieving great success in the United States. The production contains more than 25 hits by Michael Jackson but is not without criticism, because it does not address the accusations of child abuse by the iconic singer.

For the occasion, Michael Jackson’s three children, 27-year-old Michael Joseph Jr (a.k.a. Prince), 25-year-old Paris-Michael Katherine (a.k.a. Paris) and 22-year-old Prince Michael II (a.k.a. Blanket or Bigi) showed up once again taking pictures together. The three twenty-somethings, and especially Blanket, live their lives largely out of reach of the spotlight. Blanket and Paris didn’t really shine on the red carpet either. Only Prince, Michael’s firstborn, showed a wall-to-wall smile to the photographers. (Read more below the photo)

As young children, Michael Jackson bizarrely safeguarded the privacy of his children. During public events he always let his offspring go outside masked or veiled.

Michael Jackson had the two eldest children with Debbie Rowe, to whom the King of Pop was married from 1996 to 2000. The mother of his youngest son, Blanket, has never been revealed. It is Blanket who dangled Michael Jackson over the railing of a hotel room as a baby to show him to his fans. For him, the premiere came a few days after it was announced that he is taking his 93-year-old grandmother – Michael’s mother – to court over a disagreement over his father’s inheritance.
