Guus Meeuwis has been referring to Guus Meeuwis for years: ‘It is a sensitive issue for our partners’

From colleagues to friends

“It started at primary school in Baarn. This is where we all worked at the time. We quickly realized that we got along well. We were really the same types. Then you quickly gravitate towards each other,” the friends say.

“We started doing more and more outside of school and hung out a lot. During that get-together – and the team drinks – Guus Meeuwis’ music was often played quickly. Eventually, one by one, we went to work somewhere else. We decided to keep the Guus party by going to ‘Groots’ together. Whether our partners are happy with Guus’s craziness is another matter, but fortunately they allow us to have it.”

All together

“The four of us always went. Although I didn’t go twice because I became seriously ill.” says Natascha. “Luckily I can come along again now, because Guus really doesn’t want to miss you. By the way, I’m going to get a tattoo with a sign of gratitude. It is a circle with a kind of spiral in it. But – it must be so – that spiral is in the shape of a G. So Guus will come back again.”

“Guus’s concerts already start on the way to the concert. We normally take the train to the PSV stadium and when we arrive at the nearest station, the music is already playing. That’s where the party starts. You already step into the Guus world, as it were.
