Anouk responds after receiving criticism for the use of the n-word

--

Anouk is again under fire. After the singer called rapper Ronnie Flex the n-word on Saturday, she received a lot of criticism. This morning she responded in a rather cryptic manner.

In February, Anouk already incurred the wrath of many people. She then shared a photo of bloody toilet paper on Threads, writing: “Cutting your pee off doesn’t make you a woman. But this is. Am I being canceled now?”

Anouk and Ronnie Flex in the clinch

What exactly is going on now? Well, it’s like this: rapper Ronnie Flex has been at odds with Top Notch for a while now. The rapper is not happy with the contract he once signed with the record company and believes that he has been exploited. He made a so-called ‘diss track’ about, among others, Top Notch boss Kees de Koning, who is Anouk’s manager. In it he mentions the singer: “You’re a total bitch n****, why do you look like Anouk? These times of the month your tights are full of blood.”

The singer then responded: “Crying over spilled milk. Happy kings day little cryin’ broke bitch ni****. Greetings from your old happy rich bitch ni****.” (“Happy King’s Day little crying broke bitch n****. Greetings from an old happy rich bitch n*****”) An amended response can now be read online, but screenshots of the message containing the n-word are still circulating.

Criticism and rapper Sor withdraws from support act

The criticisms about this are harsh. This is how showbiz expert Ronald Molendijk responded last night Show news: “Anouk responded in a completely inappropriate way that makes me sick, by dismissing Ronnie Flex with the n-word. I just really really wonder what that woman is doing. This was just Anouk once. This was perhaps our best singer ever.”

Molendijk says he is a real fan of Anouk’s music. “But this is a bit like what you had back then with Michael Jackson and when those stories surfaced. I can still go to it with good decency Thriller listen? Can I still Nobody’s Wife to set up? Not for the time being.”

In addition to criticism, there are also actual consequences for Anouk. Rapper Sor has withdrawn from the singer’s performances on May 31 and June 1 in the Ziggo Dome. The artist announced on Instagram that he had canceled his supporting act performances “for obvious reasons”. On Threads, Sor said that he had already considered canceling the performances after the transphobic statements. He ultimately decided he wanted to make a statement during the show itself by hiring trans violinists.

Response from Anouk

Anouk has responded piecemeal to all criticism. „I’ve never been more at peace,” she wrote yesterday. Ronnie Flex shared a screenshot of this message and wrote: “I understand if you can discriminate against people without repercussions.” And this morning there was another response from the singer: “I don’t hate people, no matter what people do or say. Hate is an emotion that I do not allow in my body or mind. I will consider the people who were already looking for a way to be against me and who don’t get my good vibes. However, there are some people who absolutely challenge this thought process of mine.”
