Feyenoord has Quilindschy Hartman back on Sunday for the Eredivisie match against FC Utrecht. Calvin Stengs was also recovering from an injury, but dropped out during training on Friday after a tap on his ankle.

The 22-year-old Hartman had traveled to the Dutch national team with some minor aches and pains, from which he permanently resigned just before the international matches against Scotland and Germany. “That was a big disappointment for him, but I expect him to be present on Sunday,” coach Arne Slot said at a press conference.

That may not apply to Stengs. The 25-year-old attacker injured his knee almost a month ago and was on his way back. During the final training on Friday, he had to leave early because he had received a tap on his ankle. “So we still have to see how that goes,” said Slot.

In addition, Feyenoord still has to make do without the long-injured Gernot Trauner, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Justin Bijlow. The latter is now training again after injuring his calf almost two months ago.

“Justin is now in the final phase of his rehabilitation,” Slot said about his goalkeeper. “He is not yet part of the group, but he is already training separately. He is also performing goalkeeping duties again, so that is a nice step.”

Feyenoord seems to be on its way to second place in the Eredivisie this season. With eight rounds to go, Slot’s team is ten points behind leader PSV and nine points ahead of number three FC Twente. FC Utrecht-Feyenoord starts on Sunday at 2:30 PM.
