The 16-year-old girl who died last night after falling from a house was a student of the St. Nicholas Lyceum in South. There is great sadness at the school, says headmaster Hubert Roza. “She was a very popular student from 5th pre-university education.”

There was a meeting for students and teachers at the school this afternoon. All students were expressly invited to that meeting, including those who misbehaved last week during the final exam stunt that got out of hand.

“Everyone responded to that,” said Roza, who estimates that about 150 people were present. Professional help was also present at the meeting to support students. The school stopped all teaching activities this morning after hearing the news.

Death trap

The 16-year-old girl fell from a house on Geldersekade near Nieuwmarkt shortly before midnight, the police reported earlier. She was resuscitated and seriously injured and taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Two 16-year-old boys who ran out of the house in question last night have been arrested as suspects. Both have now been released. It is still unclear whether this was a fatal accident or whether something else occurred.
