Moulin Rouge facade in Paris damaged

In Paris, the sails of the mill of the famous cabaret theater Moulin Rouge have been broken off. Images show that the blades are lying on the street.

According to the fire brigade in Paris, there were no injuries. There is also no risk of collapse. The accident happened last night between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.

The broken blades also damaged the facade. The first three letters of the theater’s name became loose. The Moulin Rouge was closed at the time of the accident. The letters and blades were cleaned up this morning.

The official cause is not yet known, but according to Moulin Rouge management, the blades fell due to a technical problem. Director Jean-Victor Clerico says in a press statement that the building is monitored 24 hours a day, especially on the roofs. According to him, there is no intent involved.

Since the theater was founded in 1889, the blades have never come loose. The iconic theater burned down completely in 1915, after which it was rebuilt.
