The weather remains changeable in the run-up to King’s Night. Inland there is a lot of cloud and there is regional rain, elsewhere there is a greater chance of clear spells.

The day starts mainly cloudy in the east, south and center of the country, reports Weerplaza. Rain can also occur. Elsewhere it is dry and there is a chance of clear spells. It cools down to minimums between 1 and 5 degrees. There is a chance of a fog bank in the northeast.

During the day, clouds will move over the southeastern half of the country, with a chance of rain again. In the rest of the country, cumulus clouds will form and it will remain mainly dry. It will be about 10 to 13 degrees with a moderate southwest wind.

On King’s Day there is a little more room for sun, but showers remain lurking. It will then be 14 to 18 degrees. The expectation is that temperatures will slowly rise after this weekend and that we could experience spring weather again next week.

Red Cross: ‘Take a jacket or sweater with you’

The Red Cross advises people to bring a sweater or jacket if they celebrate King’s Night or go to a dress market early the morning after.

Although the cold, chilly weather of the past week seems to be giving way to slightly warmer temperatures, people would do well to be prepared and bring warm clothing. “Certainly during King’s Night and in the early morning, for lovers of dress markets, this is not an unnecessary luxury,” says the Red Cross.

The Red Cross will be present at approximately 120 locations throughout the Netherlands on Friday and Saturday. This concerns both large and small events. In Amsterdam and Utrecht, for example, there are permanent posts with people throughout the city. Some smaller events will have three or four Red Cross volunteers present.

“Whether at the flea market in Norg or during the nighttime activities in Eindhoven, which attract tens of thousands of visitors: the Red Cross is there. Our volunteers also walk, cycle or stand in Amsterdam, Lelystad, Breda, Groningen, Veenendaal and Zwolle. First Aid Volunteers.”
