A fire broke out in a shed next to a house in Berkel en Rodenrijs in South Holland on Sunday. The barn is completely on fire, the Safety Region reports. The police are considering arson. Two Rotterdam residents have been arrested.
No one was injured in the fire, the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Safety Region reports.
The major fire broke out mid-afternoon in a shed next to a house on Noordeindseweg. Several emergency services have been deployed to extinguish the fire. The barn is now completely on fire.
The thatched roof of the barn, among other things, is on fire. The fire brigade has therefore called in a team specialized in extinguishing thatched roofs.
In addition, a lot of smoke is released during the fire. The Safety Region therefore calls on local residents to stay indoors, close windows and doors and switch off ventilation.
