UpdateActor Gerard Depardieu is due to appear in court in October to face charges of sexual abuse. The Paris public prosecutor’s office reported this on Monday evening. These are incidents that took place in 2021. The 75-year-old actor received the summons when he was released after an interrogation, French media report.

In February it was announced that complaints had been filed about inappropriate behavior on the set of the film Les volets verts from 2021. Depardieu is said to have lewdly touched a set designer on the set. He is also said to have made sexually suggestive comments. For example, he said that he would ‘stick his big parasol in her’. No details of the second incident on this set have been released.

Police questioned Depardieu on Monday in connection with a major investigation into sexual abuse. It was about the alleged sexual assault on the set of Les volets vertsbut also about an incident on the set of the film Le magicien et les siamois from 2014. In this case too, Depardieu is said to have inappropriately touched a crew member and made inappropriate comments. This production assistant was 24 years old at the time.

The French actor has received several charges of sexual misconduct in recent years. The actor always denies all allegations.
