Kenneth Perez expects Feyenoord to rebuild on being the first goalkeeper next season. This means that he will probably leave De Kuip next summer.
In the television program Football talk by ESPN Feyenoord’s goalkeeper position will be discussed on Monday evening. Journalist Freek Jansen van Football International expects that either Bijlow or Wellenreuther will leave the Rotterdam club after this season. “That will be a thousand percent Wellenreuther,” responds Kenneth Perez.

Maarten Wijffels, also present, is surprised by Perez’s statement. “If you have to choose which goalkeeper you will rely on next season, then you would choose Wellenreuther, wouldn’t you?”, asks the journalist. Algemeen Dagblad wonders. Wellenreuther made an excellent impression in Feyenoord’s goal in recent months when he replaced the injured Bijlow. However, the latter returned to the starting line-up last Thursday against Go Ahead Eagles (1-3 win).
Perez: “You’re building on Bijlow for the future, right? Isn’t that a goalkeeper they have always had a lot of confidence in?” continues the Danish analyst. “The only thing you can criticize about Bijlow is his physicality. But that’s why they did well to get a very good second goalkeeper. They have to do that again.”
Perez assumes that Wellenreuther currently also represents more transfer value than his colleague. “Bijlow now yields zero, I think. There is now no club that is thinking about Bijlow… Last year there was talk of Manchester United. Then you’re talking about a lot of money. Now there is no one who is going to get Bijlow, so it makes sense that they keep him.”
