At least five people were killed in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian port city of Odesa on Monday, according to local authorities. In addition, 32 people were injured, including a four-year-old child and a pregnant woman. Eight people were seriously injured.

The attack hit an educational institution in a park. It is an elegant building that is also called the ‘Harry Potter castle’ because of the appearance of the building. The roof has been almost completely destroyed. The owner of the building did not survive the attack.

According to Ukrainian navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk, the attack used an Iskander-M missile with a cluster warhead.

The mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, is furious. “People are just being killed while walking along the coast,” he said in a message on Telegram. One of the injured is said to be a former prominent member of parliament, writes the Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne.

The fire released a lot of smoke. The fire is still being extinguished. Odesa has been bombarded more often by Russian missiles and drones. The port infrastructure in particular is an important target for the Russians.
