An explosion occurred for the third time at a house on Zeeburgerdijk in Oost last night. Due to previous incidents, there has been camera surveillance around the building for over a month, but that does not seem to stop the perpetrators. The door was destroyed with the explosive. There were no injuries.

The explosion happened around 12:45 am and the explosion also caused a small fire at the front door. The fire brigade responded and quickly brought the fire under control, and an explosives expert from the police then investigated the building.

On March 17, there was also an explosion at the same house. Because ‘serious disturbances’ had already taken place at the building in the previous month, Mayor Femke Halsema decided to install camera surveillance for a month. This was extended by another month, because in the meantime there was ‘another public disorder’ in the area.

The police do not yet have a suspect in sight and are asking witnesses who have seen or heard something to come forward. Local residents with a video doorbell or dashcam are asked to share the images.
