Palestinian-British surgeon Ghassan Abu Sitta has been denied entry to France, he says on was then sent back to London.
Abu Sitta is said to have been denied entry to all Schengen countries after a request from Germany. This is what an anonymous official in France told the AP news agency. The official did not provide further details. According to the news agency, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not want to comment on the case.

Last month, the surgeon was denied entry to Germany, where he was due to take part in a pro-Palestinian conference in Berlin. Police at the airport refused entry because of “the safety of the people at the conference and public order,” he told AP at the time.
The conference itself was raided and broken up by the German police. According to police, a livestream was shown at the conference by a person who is not allowed to carry out political activities in Germany.
Abu Sitta lives in the United Kingdom and worked as a surgeon in Gaza for a number of weeks at the beginning of the war. He talked about his experiences in Al-Shifa hospital, among others, several times as an eyewitness to international media such as Al-Jazeera, BBC and CNN. He frequently speaks out against Israeli aggression in Gaza.
