Darter Kim Huybrechts breaks collarbone after brawl at Belgian Cup final | Darts

--

Darter Kim Huybrecht was injured on Thursday evening after the Belgian cup final between Royal Antwerp FC and Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgian was involved in a fight and broke his collarbone in two places.

The 38-year-old Huybrechts, a big fan of Antwerp FC, will therefore have to undergo surgery on Friday, as can be read on the Facebook page of his darts shop Hurricane.

Huybrechts was allegedly attacked by a large group while walking back to the bus and suffered several blows and kicks.

It is unclear how long Huybrechts’ recovery will take. What makes it extra painful for the darts player is that it involves his right shoulder and therefore also his throwing arm.

Huybrechts, number 33 on the PDC Order of Merit, was controversial two months ago after he was fined 1,750 euros for punching fellow countryman Mike De Decker. With four PDC titles, Huybrechts is one of the best Belgian darts players ever.
