Sergio Perez had a high-profile race in Brazil last weekend. The Mexican Red Bull Racing driver reacted furiously when his teammate Max Verstappen did not want to let him pass. Perez reacted furiously about the on-board radio, but a week later he regrets the relevant statements.

Verstappen received a team order in the closing stages of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Red Bull asked him to let Perez pass, after all, the Mexican can still finish second in the world championship. Verstappen refused and indicated over the on-board radio that he has his reasons for it. Perez, in turn, said that Verstappen showed ‘who he really is’ with this action.

Perez now regrets his statement. The Mexican driver reacted to his statement in Abu Dhabi and expressed remorse. He is quoted by Motorsport.com: “Formula 1 is a very emotional sport. There is no other sport where you talk directly to the channel. There is a lot of emotion in the statements we make. Of course I regret a lot things I said after that race. My relationship with Max is back to where we were before. We’re both on the team and we’re mature enough to continue.”
