Spanish-Tunisian actress Hiba Abouk has spoken openly for the first time about her divorce from Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi.

In an interview with Elle magazine, she says she’s a “fighter” and money doesn’t interest her. She thus responds to the statements of Hakimi’s mother, who called her a “woman” that her son should get rid of.

Abouk, who became known for her role in the Spanish crime series El Principe, says she has done “everything in her power to avoid the current situation”. She said she now focuses on the love of her two children, whose growth has been her greatest success in the world.

She says she is “doing well” despite the divorce. “There are days when it’s like that, and other days when you have to know how to handle the blows and sometimes make complicated decisions, get used to new situations. (…) And that can throw you off balance a little bit. For me, the most important thing is my children’s health and everything else really comes second,” she says.

She also cites her humble origins, stating that she has “always been a fighter” and that she “doesn’t value” material things. “Fifteen years ago I shared a two-square-metre room,” she adds, even though she acknowledges that she has a “comfortable” standard of living today. She contradicts that she was after Hakimi’s ability.

Abouk (36) and Hakimi (24) married in a private ceremony in 2020 and have two children: Amin (3) and Naím (13 months). They decided to end their relationship even before Hakimi was accused of rape by a 24-year-old woman in February.

Hakimi denies the accusation and his lawyer claims it is an attempted extortion. The player is under surveillance by the police and is not allowed to have any contact with the alleged victim while the investigation is ongoing.

The Atlas lion is one of the highest paid African football players in the world. He earns more than $215,000 a week at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). However, according to Marca, he has no assets to his name and his mother is the beneficiary of his salary.
