Carlos Sainz has had a bizarre few weeks. In Saudi Arabia he was operated on for appendicitis and two weeks later he crossed the finish line as the winner in Australia. His father hopes that Sainz will also have a competitive seat next year.

After all, Sainz was told last winter that he would not receive a new contract with Ferrari. The Italian racing team has chosen to replace the Spaniard with Lewis Hamilton. Sainz wants to prove himself this year and there are plenty of opportunities for him. Seats will become available on the Red Bull and Mercedes teams and Audi will enter the sport in 2026. So Sainz has several options.

Sainz is receiving a lot of support in his search for a new seat. His father, rally legend Carlos Sainz senior, was present at all races this year. He was very proud of his son’s performance in Australia and the rally driver explains to DAZN that this victory comes at the right time: “We are currently trying to find out who he will drive for next year. I hope that he will next will have the opportunity to drive for a team that gives him the opportunity to fight for victories.”
