This is how you keep moss out of your grass

--

To remove moss from your lawn and prevent future growth, there are several steps you can take. Here are some techniques you can follow:

Start by scarifying to mechanically remove the moss. Scarifying involves thoroughly raking or fluffing the turf to remove loose moss and other compact organic matter. For smaller lawns you can do this manually with a scarifying rake, while for larger lawns you may want to use a scarifying machine.

Provide regular lawn care by mowing the lawn properly, watering it during dry periods and scarifying it at the right time. This helps aerate the soil and removes dead grass and moss, making the grass stronger and healthier so it can grow better.

Another method to combat moss is to use iron sulphate. This product causes moss to die, and some products also contain nutrients for the lawn, allowing the grass to recover after treatment.

Remember that regular maintenance and proper care of a lawn are crucial to preventing moss. This includes adequate fertilization, sufficient watering and preventing soil compaction.
