Alex Kroes has now had discussions with Christopher Vivell, one of the candidates to become technical director in Amsterdam. VI and German media reported Ajax’s interest for the first time last week and De Telegraaf knows that discussions have taken place. Yet Vivell does not seem to be on his way to Amsterdam.

At least that is what Ajax watcher Mike Verweij reports The Telegraph. According to the journalist, Kroes has now spoken to more than five candidates for the vacant position of technical director in Amsterdam. The German Vivell, who previously played an important role as sporting director at RB Leipzig and most recently worked as technical director of Chelsea, was one of the people Kroes has now interviewed.

Vivell’s arrival at Ajax is as yet unlikely, according to reports received by De Telegraaf. Kroes is said to have had a ‘reasonable to good’ impression of Vivell, but a move to Amsterdam does not seem imminent: “Just like with Sven Mislintat, there are bad sounds from the market about the director who failed at Chelsea, who had no role in London and was only busy setting up satellite clubs,” Verweij writes about this.

A 67 year old legend of Ajax receives a lot of compliments on social media for his play and fitness during a charity match against the Liverpool Legends.
