Özcan Akyol has now completed four times the online respectful behavior course that everyone in Hilversum must complete. The presenter and writer said this on Monday in the VI program. He showed all four certificates he had received.

“I had to do it four times because I work for a lot of broadcasters,” Akyol explained. “NTR, Talpa. And as presenter BNNVARA and Omroep MAX.” The e-learning is an initiative of the Media Pact, a partnership of major parties in the media sector that was founded after the revelations of abuses at The Voice and DWDD. The online respectful behavior course must make an active contribution to a change in mentality in Hilversum.

“Do you know what’s special about the videos?” Akyol noted. “All those managers had a tan, they had a migration background. In real life you never see a manager with a migration background.”

Analyst Johan Derksen once again emphasized that he was not going to do e-learning. The 75-year-old Talpa employee received the e-learning from Joost Brakel, CEO of Talpa. The company previously reported that all employees must complete the e-learning by April 12. If Talpa therefore wants to fire him, then “I think that’s fine,” said Derksen. “If they want to push it to the limit, they win. I won’t do it.”

Derksen added that the subject of e-learning “does not concern him”. Akyol noted that “it’s something we talk about every night here.”
