Photo competition nominees Naturally Amstelveen: cast your vote!

Amstelveen – The nominated photos of the Natural Amstelveen photo competition, which was organized this spring by Visit Amstelveen and Canon, have been announced! Amstelveen residents can now cast their vote for the audience award on the website Think Along Amstelveen (click here) and have a chance to win a VIP ticket for the Cobra Museum.

Hundreds of photos were submitted for the photo competition in the two categories (kids and adults). Bring it on Think Mee Amstelveen cast your vote and have a chance to win one of 5 VIP tickets for the opening of a special exhibition in the Cobra Museum on May 24. You can vote until May 19, 2024.

NOMINEES FOR THE AUDIENCE PRIZE ADULT CATEGORY:

Ditsy Kulk, Nesserlaan/Middenweg (BP): ‘As a hobby photographer, I like to get out early. Right at the start of the round I have in mind I am treated to these beautiful pink colors in the sky.’

Joe Wong, Jac. P Thijssepark: ‘With all their cheerful enthusiasm they reach towards the sky, their budding leaves still rolled up. Curled up like the tongues of little mouths that want to shout how beautiful each and every one of them will be like ferns.’

Diane Kuiken, De Poel: ‘After more than half an hour my wait (in the rain) was rewarded, the clouds drifted out of view just enough for the sun to emerge.’

Willem van Weperen, Bovenkerkerpolder: ‘In the Bovenkerkerpolder, an undiscovered nature reserve and a popular breeding ground for meadow birds, the black-tailed godwit, the Dutch national bird, thrives thanks to a fruitful collaboration between farmers and nature conservationists’,

Gerard Bulder, De Braak: ‘The lake ‘de Doorbraak’ behind the east entrance is always spectacular in changing weather conditions.’

Connie Esser, Park City Gardens: ‘While I was taking pictures I suddenly saw something green between the trees. It turned out to be a ring-necked parakeet that was feasting on the blossom.

Eva Sophie Ridderikhof, Oeverlanden De Poel: ‘Walking the dog every morning in the Amsterdamse Bos produces beautiful pictures!’

Henk van ‘t Land, Amsterdam forest: ‘Everyone called this tree ‘Henk’s tree’, I have many photos of it and each one is different. This one is a bit mysterious’

Tessa Rijsbergen, Schinkelbos: ‘The calf was the most curious of all the calves born at that time and was eager to know who or what I was.’

Charlotte Brand, Amsterdam forest: ‘On a sweltering summer day, shelter and coolness in the forest, as if the world stood still for a moment, completely surrounded by greenery.’

NOMINEES AUDIENCE PRIZE KIDS CATEGORY:

KIDS – Merlijn Meijer (11 years), De Poel: ‘Well, what is really Amstelveen? Well De Poel! The sailboat moored in the photo shows how people can enjoy nature.’

KIDS – Hugo Mulder (12 years), De Braak: ‘I happened to be walking around outside with my camera and looked around and saw an owl sitting in the tree in De Braak park.’

KIDS – Anushree Prakash (10 years), De Braak: ‘What inspired me to take this photo? That’s because of all the green, the bright shades of green and much more.’

KIDS – Sem van den Berg (12 years), Oeverlanden Poel: ‘When I went cycling with my father in the morning, I saw a bird of prey sitting in the treetop. I wanted a photo of that.’

KIDS – Arya Arici (9 years), Cherry Blossom Park Amsterdamse Bos: ‘I think the Sakuras are incredibly beautiful and they give me spring fever, so I immediately knew: “Okay Arya, that’s the photo you might have a chance with!”

KIDS – Sanne Blekman (10 years), Amsterdamse Bos: ‘I live close to the Amsterdam forest, and I think it is very special that we can just take a walk in such a beautiful nature reserve in Amstelveen.’

KIDS – Mirte den Hartog (8 years), Middelpolder: ‘I took this photo with my mom’s old pink camera. I took this photo when we were walking around the neighborhood where we live.

KIDS – Lars Huijmans (11 years old), Black Path: ‘I often cycle to Pinoké and then I have to cycle along the black path. And then I see these beautiful flowers in the spring’

KIDS – Anne Sinnige (9 years old), Sportlaan-Van der Hooplaan area. ‘A real piece of wild nature, in the middle of Amstelveen between Myra and the HWC college.’
