Bernard Schuiteman stops as a scout at Feyenoord. FC Den Bosch has appointed Bernard Schuiteman as head of the club’s football branch for at least two seasons. The Dutchman is currently Head of European Recruitment at Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan, with whom he won the Asian Champions League last summer. Schuiteman will start his job as technical director at the first division club from Den Bosch on April 10. That reports FC Den Bosch Tuesday morning via the club website.

At FC Den Bosch, Schuiteman will be responsible for all sporting activities and for the club’s sporting direction. These activities include professional football, scouting, youth training and management of the staff. Schuiteman’s core tasks include the composition of the A-selection and ensuring transfers run smoothly. Schuiteman, who has many years of experience in scouting and recruitment, will also be involved in discovering and (further) developing talent and the influx of players from our own youth academy to the first team.

Schuiteman played as a defender for Feyenoord between 1995 and 1999. After his career, he became chief scout at FC Twente, Rapid Wien, Manchester United and Wolverhampton. He currently also carries out European scouting work for the Japanese Urawa Red Diamonds, with which Feyenoord still has a partnership. In the past period, Schuiteman, together with Mark Ruijl, was busy with FC Dordrecht, with which Feyenoord has a successful alliance.
