Vitesse’s financial situation is becoming increasingly dire, report The Telegraph and the A.D Wednesday. The club has to take out a new loan now that the American Coley Parry does not want to pay the last part of his guarantee.

To follow The Telegraph this concerns a deficit of 2.5 million euros. It A.D even talks about 3.5 million. To fill the gap, Vitesse must take out a loan at a high interest rate.

It is a new setback for the already financially troubled Vitesse, which has been in debt for millions of years and has to fear a points penalty. A takeover by Parry was recently rejected by the KNVB licensing committee.

Vitesse, which on paper is still owned by the Russian Valeri Oyf, wants to end its partnership with Parry and continue with local entrepreneurs. The American doesn’t want to know anything about that. He is now digging in his heels and will no longer be able to come up with money.

Parry also appears to be entitled to the millions that Vitesse collected at the beginning of this year when selling Million Manhoef to Stoke City. The Arnhem residents cannot use that money to close the new financial gap.

The complex financial situation means that Vitesse’s professional license for the new season is still at risk. From a sporting point of view, the club is already in a dramatic position as number seventeen in the Eredivisie. On Tuesday they lost 1-4 to Sparta Rotterdam.
