Erik ten Hag banned journalists from three English newspapers from asking questions at his press conference on Friday. According to the Dutch manager of Manchester United TheSunthe Daily Mirror and the Manchester Evening News been too critical.

The three British newspapers were present at the press conference in the run-up to the match against Burnley. Just before the start of the press meeting, reporters from Manchester United’s press department were told that Ten Hag would not answer any questions from them.

United and Ten Hag received a lot of criticism on Sunday after their victory via penalties over Coventry City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. He already responded to this earlier this week. “Whether our display was shameful? No. Your reaction was shameful,” Ten Hag said to the press present on Tuesday.

Three days later, the journalists critical of Ten Hag were allowed to leave TheSun, Daily Mirror and Manchester Evening News so no more questions to the 54-year-old trainer. It is not the first time that Ten Hag has not spoken to journalists. In December he banned journalists from Sky Sports, ESPN, Manchester Evening News and the Daily Mirror to ask questions.

The question is whether Ten Hag will remain United’s manager for much longer. English media speculate that the coach may be fired soon due to the disappointing play and poor results. United are sixth in the Premier League with five matches to go. Relegation candidate Burnley will visit Old Trafford on Saturday.
