FC Den Bosch has found a new trainer about a week and a half after the sidelining of Tomasz Kaczmarek. The Kitchen Champion Division club is joining forces with former Eredivisie defender David Nascimento.

The 58-year-old Nascimento will start working in Den Bosch after this season. He signs for two years and takes current Telstar coach Ulrich Landvreugd with him as an assistant. Landvreugd has been at the helm of Telstar on an interim basis since February.

Nascimento played for RKC Waalwijk, Roda JC, FC Utrecht and Sparta Rotterdam in the 1990s and early 2000s. He played 325 Eredivisie matches. It’s been a while since his last coaching job: he was coach of FC Eindhoven from January 2018 to July 2019. In the previous years he worked in South Africa, Mexico, Cyprus and Malta, among others.

“FC Den Bosch still counts. Our ambition is to translate the momentum from the sporting glory days and the enthusiasm from the stands to the field. I will do my best for that,” says Nascimento.

These are turbulent times at FC Den Bosch, which recently said goodbye to American investors. The shares fell into Asian hands. This means that the former Eredivisie club is out of its financial problems.

Shortly after the Asian takeover, FC Den Bosch said goodbye to trainer Kaczmarek. His duties will be taken over by assistant coach William van Overbeek until the end of the season. With two rounds to go, FC Den Bosch is eighteenth.
