Arsenal achieved an important victory on Saturday in the battle for the English league title. ‘The Gunners’ won 3-0 against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, meaning that the title battle in the Premier League still remains extremely exciting.

After many chances in the first half, Arsenal opened the score just before half time with a penalty kick. Kai Havertz was brought down in the box by goalkeeper Mark Travers. Bukayo Saka was then allowed to approach from 11 meters and calmly shot the ball home.

After the break, the strengthening Bournemouth seemed to equalize for a moment, but Dominic Solanke shot the ball against goalkeeper David Raya from a difficult angle. Arsenal picked up the thread again in the sixtieth minute and doubled the margin. This time it was Leandro Trossard who was accurate. After a clever pass from Declan Rice, the Belgian winger coolly slotted the ball home.

In the 74th minute, Bournemouth’s starting player Justin Kluivert seemed to be doing something back, but Antoine Semenyo’s goal was disallowed due to a foul. Rice scored the third goal of the match in extra time.

Thanks to the effortless victory over Bournemouth, Arsenal now has 83 points after 36 matches. The lead over Manchester City is still four points, but coach Pep Guardiola’s team still has to play twice. Liverpool is also still in the race for the title with 75 points from 35 matches.
