PSV returned to Eindhoven at the start of this season with high expectations, but the Mexican winger failed to convince in his second period at the club. Jan Mulder believes that PSV should have decided against Lozano’s return in advance.

The experienced analyst will appear in the television program on Monday evening Rondo by Ziggo Sports explains that he is not a fan of the Dutch club bringing back players. Mulder points out that Lozano himself opted to leave PSV in 2019 and move up at Napoli. The analyst does not like the fact that PSV brought back the Mexican when he was at a dead end in Italy. “I found the same thing with Brian Brobbey. He wanted to leave himself,” Mulder refers to the striker’s departure from Ajax in 2019 to RB Leipzig.

Brobbey left for the German club on a free transfer, but six months later he was loaned out to Ajax and then returned to Amsterdam six months later for approximately sixteen million. “You must be a big world star if I want to take you back. Without being vindictive,” says Mulder.

Mulder receives support from tablemate Guus Hiddink. “I understand Jan’s reasoning. You don’t easily fall back on players who left you a few years earlier. I am not really in favor of bringing players back within two or three years,” said the former coach of PSV and Real Madrid, among others.
