Rumors about the future of Max Verstappen have been buzzing for weeks. The Dutchman has a long-term contract with Red Bull Racing, but he has been linked with Mercedes several times. According to Oliver Mintzlaff, there is no doubt and Verstappen will simply stay with Red Bull.

Max Verstappen is under contract with Red Bull Racing until 2028. For a long time it looked like he was never going to leave Red Bull, but a few cracks have appeared in recent months. The unrest within the team caused doubts about his future at Red Bull. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff openly flirted with Verstappen, and rumors circulated about a meeting between Mercedes and the Dutchman.

Security

Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff first spoke out about the situation last weekend in Miami. In conversation with the German branch of Sky Sports, it was clear when asked whether Verstappen will stay: “I am one thousand percent sure of that. I also talk to Max, Christian Horner talks to Max and nothing indicates that he is going to leave. I think that the spectators know who is currently building the fastest car. This is not only evident this season, but also in recent years.”

Peace

According to Mintzlaff, the atmosphere within Red Bull is still very good. The CEO states that Verstappen also thinks the same way: “He has a contract until 2028. We have the fastest car and he drives for the coolest brand. He feels very comfortable here. He became world champion here and he has an environment that he appreciates. I don’t want to deny that we need some more rest. But I believe we are getting there step by step.”
