The Red Bull Racing team is still seen as the leader in Formula 1. However, last weekend they were defeated in Miami by McLaren driver Lando Norris. Helmut Marko is not worried, and he reveals that important updates are coming in Imola.
The Red Bull team has started the new season in a very strong way. The Austrian team managed to win with Max Verstappen in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Japan and China. In Australia, Verstappen dropped out, allowing Carlos Sainz to win, while in Miami Verstappen was defeated on the track by Norris. McLaren introduced a major update package there, which makes people wonder whether the British racing team can compete with Red Bull.
However, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko is not worried about that. The Austrian sees no dangers, and he points to the upcoming race weekend in Imola. He shrugs his shoulders when OE24 asks him if he sees McLaren as a danger in the world championship: “No, I’m not worried at all. Norris is fifty points behind us in the world championship. We also take an update to Imola, and I expect a lot from that. But Miami showed us that we have to focus on the sporting side.”
