Tour 2022: Video shows images of collision and crash Oss, Van Poppel and Gogl

Images have surfaced on social media of a serious crash in the cobblestone stage of the Tour de France. In sector three, 18 kilometers from the finish, Daniel Oss collided hard with spectators. The Italian took Danny van Poppel and Michael Gogl with him in his fall.

The front peloton can be seen passing on the strip from Tilloy to Sars-et-Rosières. A few spectators are just standing on the cobblestones and just at that moment Oss drives up hard in the side. First he hits a man in a yellow shirt, after which he collides head on into another spectator who is filming with a mobile.

The result is a serious crash, in which Danny van Poppel (BORA-hansgrohe) also falls. The Dutch sprinter was shortly behind Oss. The onrushing Michael Gogl (Alpecin-Deceuninck) can no longer avoid the swinging bicycles. He falls badly and has to give up. The Austrian has since been transported to hospital. Van Poppel (146th) and Oss (154th) did make it to the finish.
