Elgato announces the Facecam Mk.2, a 1080p webcam with HDR support and a built-in privacy cover. The camera has largely the same specifications as the first Facecam from 2021, but costs a quarter less with a release price of 150 euros.

The Facecam Mk.2 makes some improvements compared to its predecessor. Although the maximum resolution and frame rate remain 1080p and 60fps, the webcam now also supports HDR, for example. Furthermore, the diagonal viewing angle of the successor is 84 degrees, compared to 82 degrees previously. The Mk.2 can now zoom by tilting the lens vertically or horizontally. Elgato has also adjusted the design of the camera slightly. The successor is a bit flatter and therefore protrudes slightly less far above the screen.

Other specifications are identical. For example, the camera lens once again has an aperture of f/2.4 and a focal length of 24mm. Users can also connect the Mk.2 to their PC via a USB-C 3.0 connection. Users can still adjust various settings via the existing Camera Hub Software, including viewing angle, colors and shutter speed.
